Workflow actions

21. August 2026

Elaine Foley

Select the Get assets node to choose the pool from which to retrieve the assets and enter a search query.

The following actions are available:

  • Send assets to - Select the pool and folder to which the assets are sent.
  • Apply metadata macros - Use predefined metadata macros to modify metadata fields.
  • Purging -. This action permanently removes selected assets from your pool. You cannot recover deleted assets.
  • Edit Metadata - Update metadata fields on selected assets. You can add, replace, or modify metadata values to enrich assets, control workflow stages, or ensure consistent classification
  • Auto-tagging - Automatically generate metadata tags for assets using AI. The system analyzes image content (such as objects, text, or brands) and writes the results to metadata fields to improve searchability.
  • File rename - Rename files.
  • Extract file name - Extract information from the file name and store it in metadata fields. This enables automated metadata enrichment based on structured naming conventions.
  • API request - Call external services or Fotoware APIs as part of a workflow. This enables integration with third-party systems, custom processing, or advanced automation scenarios. [fotoware.com]
  • Dynamic variables - Insert dynamic values (such as dates, user information, or asset metadata) into metadata fields, file names, or requests during workflow execution
  • Translation - Translate metadata values into one or more languages. This supports multilingual workflows and improves accessibility across regions.
