Users can sign in to FotoWeb in a web browser using their FotoWeb credentials (username and password) or via SSO. When using SSO, users authenticate with an external identity provider, typically one used in their organization. The same browser-based sign-in experience is used for the regular web UI and integrations (mobile and desktop apps, as well as external web apps), whether or not SSO is used.

SSO provides added security due to a centralized, dedicated authentication solution with advanced features such as multi-factor authentication. SSO benefits users by simplifying the login process (users only have to authenticate with one identity provider and do not need multiple passwords), enhancing security (a centralized, dedicated authentication solution with advanced features such as multi-factor authentication), and improving overall user experience. It also simplifies and is convenient, as users only have to authenticate with one identity provider and do not need multiple passwords. It supports several mechanisms for authenticating users through a web browser. These can be coupled with single sign-on to give users effortless access to the DAM system without requiring manual input of user credentials.

SSO is typically used in combination with a single authentication provider such as Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory),  Microsoft ADFS, or SAML.

Tip: When configuring single sign-on for one of the authentication mechanisms, you can decide whether to allow "override" of SSO so users can manually enter a username and password to log in. This way, you can have a mix of users with and without SSO authentication: SSO users can log in, while external users can log in manually using an assigned username and password.
