To add a note to an asset, select the asset and open the Asset information panel (Keyboard shortcut T). By first selecting several assets, you can add the same note to the whole selection.

Activate the Information tab, click in the Note field, and enter the note. Finally, click the check mark next to the field to save the changes.

Tip: Pressing Shift-Enter also saves the metadata changes you've made.
